Objectives of the conference:
To lead participants to discuss about how can we best realize the enormous potential of ICT in rural development
To lead participants to share experiences through case studies, demonstration of applications, successful initiatives and to improve the networking
My activities during the conference
Tiltle of the presentation: The Yam Pukri association experience in ICT implementation in Burkina Faso rural area
Summary of the presentation
Yam Pukri Association is an organization of civil society that operates in more than a decade in rural areas Burkina Faso. The intervention of Yam Pukri consists of several components:
Promoting access to information (particularly through the portals and the creation of networks and discussion groups), Improving the visibility of farmers' organizations (through the creation of web site for these organizations), Capacity building etc.
Summary of conclusions of sessions I participate
The first session I attend was the session of the group “ICT and agriculture”, the mains conclusions of this session was:
To encourage market information system
The importance of the multistakeholders approch in the ICT4RD projects, particularly the implication of rural communities in the process
The second session I attend was the focus group on rural ICT strategy, the issues we discuss was about the implementation by countries of rural ICT strategies, the challenges and the impacts.
I also participate on case studies such are m-farming, combining mobile and human networks for agricultural information delivery, etc.
Main conclusions and recommendations of the conference
ICT4RD is not just a single minded focus on lowering costs or increasing access, it is a vision and a set of policies and strategies to put ICTs at the service of rural development.
Several recommendations have been made ​​and include the following:
The relevance of technologies to the development issues
The empowerment of communities for technologies,
The funding mechanism and the funding model
Monitoring and evaluation of different projects
Etc.
Lessons learnt according to your expectations

I was very impressed by the organization and it inspires me for my future within my organization
I also remember the many innovative initiatives for ICT for Rural Development, I was not expecting so much wealth in presentations, case studies, demos
